Rest in the south, is it worth the risk?

Does everybody need to rest in the south?

What can turn month spent by the sea?

Do I need to take the children to the south?

The habit of a certain temperature of the environment, the amount of sunlight, even the time of sunrise and sunset is formed from generation to generation, creating a geographical stereotype of every living organism. Sharp changes in the usual living conditions require from him the stress of all the systems of regulation. Therefore, the capillaries of the skin expand in the heat. blood flow increases, sweating increases, the mineral composition of the blood changes, the work of the endocrine glands, respiration, and blood circulation is altered. A healthy body copes with such a load. Can a weakened person cope? So now we will think about whether everyone in the summer can usefully relax in the south.

What a south without a beach, you say. And on the beach you have to sunbathe. So they often sunbathe before the burn, before the blisters on the skin, and in the evening they shiver, the temperature rises, the whole body burns. And even if you do not sunbathe on the beach, but to sit in the shade, it’s still hot, it is hard to be used to it, it is always thirsty …

Let me all the sensations and experiences that a northerner in the south has somewhat exaggerated, but in principle it is. And many then for the month spent by the sea. paid for the long months of ailments.

… In October last year, a 20-year-old girl came to me with complaints about the cessation of menstruation and the appearance of hair on her face and body. The patient said that in the summer with a group of fellow students, the “savage” had a rest in Pitsunda and spent almost the whole day on the beach. As usual, in the first days “burned”, peeled off the skin on the back and shoulders, in the evening chewed up, the head ached. I didn’t want to eat, I lost three kilograms.

It turned out that from the very beginning her menstruation was not very regular; during the exam period, for example, she was delayed by 2 to 3 weeks. Many experiences brought hair on his legs, and now they have appeared on the face, abdomen, chest. This is evidence of impaired ovarian function. And the reason for it was the unusual body overload caused by excessive insolation, sunburn, a sharp change in the usual climatic conditions of existence.

Not always, of course, rest by the sea leads to such consequences. However, women who are prone to excessive hairiness, under the influence of sunlight increases the sensitivity of the hair follicles to male hormones, which are always in the female body. As a result, coarsening of fluff hair on the body occurs. Therefore, we warn girls and women who have excessive body hair that sunburn is contraindicated.

Similarly, for adolescent girls with unsteady menstrual cycles, any additional stress on the body’s regulatory systems, especially sudden changes in temperature and climatic conditions, are highly undesirable. They can lead to both bleeding and vice versa – the cessation of menstruation, the acceleration or slowdown of sexual development, that is, disrupt the complex restructuring of the body during puberty. This restructuring is often violated in boys, which can lead to delayed sexual development. Clinical practice provides compelling examples.

I advise women and men over middle-aged to think three times before going to rest in warm countries. At this age, various vascular disorders are frequent, there are complaints of “hot flashes”, excessive sweating, a tendency to an increase in blood pressure is noted, insomnia and headache begin to disturb. And how often after a holiday in the south such people have to be actively treated in order to bring the cardiovascular system in relative order. And really, do not be upset if during a medical examination a doctor recommends that you rest in the middle lane under the usual conditions. Of course, with special care and in Karelia in the summer you can get sunburn, but this is an exception, and not a common phenomenon.

And in conclusion a few words about the children. Recall a familiar picture: a child on the beach. He sits in the water until blue in the face, to shiver, then heats up under the scorching rays of the southern sun to burn. Many parents come with children to the beach only in the morning and evening hours. And the rest of the time? The whole hot day, the child must hide somewhere from the sun, sweaty, exhausted from the heat and dreaming of splashing in the sea. And is it any wonder that after such a rest the children become excitable, capricious, nervous, fall asleep poorly, eat poorly, that is, they show signs of neurosis. And it develops due to the increased loads experienced by the children’s body, adapting to new climatic conditions and unusual conditions.

That is why, before you decide to go to rest to the south, and especially to take out children there, you must consult with your doctor, find out whether contraindications are met, and if the desired south does not hurt your health.
