And so, what to do to increase the body’s resistance to everything that contributes to the development of asthenic negative emotions and neuroses – the highest levels of stress that are dangerous to health and stress? The degree of tension, as we have said, depends primarily on the complexity of the task facing the person. Another thing is also known: the same task of some people activates, mobilizes, others demobilizes and depresses.

“So heavy, crushing glass, forges bulat,” said the poet. The person also tempered or bent, breaking under the weight of certain circumstances. Why does it depend?

Some people are convinced that these differences in body reactions are predetermined by its genetic characteristics. This is only partially true. The genetic code is only the design of the future building. With the best design, the building can collapse a month after construction and, conversely, be durable, even if built according to the design is by no means first-class.

The genetic code is embodied in the structure of the body in the process of individual development, starting from the moment of fertilization of the egg and continuing throughout life. The future reactions of the organism, the likelihood of the development of various degrees of stress depend on how this process will be. This is evidenced by the experience conducted by I. P. Pavlov. Puppies of one litter were divided into two groups. Some grew up in truly greenhouse conditions: in separate rooms, on everything ready. The second group of puppies lived in an open-air cage with adult dogs. Each crust of bread and a sip of soup they had to take “from the battlefield”, defending themselves against other, sometimes very aggressive animals.

Months passed. In dogs grown in greenhouse conditions, a weak type of higher nervous activity was formed. The slightest difficulty, a little bit difficult situation turned out to be insurmountable for them, causing a breakdown, stress. In dogs that grew up in an open-air cage, the nervous system was strong, agile, balanced, they easily coped with tasks that turned out to be impossible for their fellows.

In this regard, it is interesting to note that in the first half of the last century, the famous German doctor Christopher Hufeland, in his book Macrobiotics, or Art of Extending Human Life, wrote that parents more often harm children, eliminating everything that could cause make an effort, strain, tire. Thus, they bring up the weak nature, for there is no strength without exercise. Simplicity and severity of education is the basis of longevity, he stressed.

It is clear that we do not call for excessive severity in education, for deliberate heaping of difficulties and obstacles. For proper development, a child, of course, needs both positive emotions, and a wide variety of contacts with adults, love, care, caress … We must not forget that it is in communication with adults that moral values ​​and attitudes of the future personality are shaped, mental structure and character are determined relationship with others, that is all that depends on not only behavior, but also human health. At the same time, it is necessary to encourage self-reliance, initiative, not to hinder search activities, attempts to actively cognize the world around, to promote the development of game and labor skills, dexterity, courage, and self-confidence. A healthy person can only be a person who is able to overcome difficulties and stress, able to understand and accept new things.

Ability, skills, life experience — in a word, everything. what is stored in memory in the process of knowing the world later plays a very important role.

Having gone into the subconscious, our life experience practically forms the ability of the body, if necessary, to immediately respond with adequate mobilization of its resources, which translates into an increase in physical and spiritual strength, concentration, concentration. It is not by chance that such highly beneficial reactions (CH-1) are characteristic mainly for people with a strong, balanced nervous system, and these are mainly those who grew up in conditions that train and temper the nervous system.

But a person with a weak type of nervous activity (as a rule, he grew welcoming and protected from difficulties) almost every difficult situation responds with a kind of passive-defensive reaction, decrease in activity, he quickly stops trying to solve the difficult task facing him. And this is already a harbinger of stress. It is people with a weak type of higher nervous activity that are more exposed to stress.

Thus, the nature of the body’s response in certain situations depends largely on the skills acquired by life. Recall that, according to the formula of the state of tension, life experience is an integral part of the information that is needed to solve certain tasks and problems. However, the information resources stored by the nervous system are not exhausted by this. The wealth of the inner world, the breadth of the worldview, the depth of culture and knowledge – all this increases the capabilities of a person, gives him confidence in his abilities.

Without a constant influx of information, life is unthinkable, but information information is different. One at the cost of incredible efforts, with unremitting labor tries to unravel the secrets of nature, to create something new, that is, to enrich oneself with the knowledge necessary for creative, useful activity for people. The other is satisfied with empty talk, seeks to evade activity, fearing to overstrain, undermine his health.

But the organism is not the storeroom of a miserly knight. You can’t save health, you can’t save health, if you only think about how to save it. Moreover, the ability to resist illnesses increases in the presence of strong dominants, for example, some big goals, and in the process of activities aimed at achieving it. It was not by chance that during the Great Patriotic War, the soldiers who defended their homeland, even under the most difficult conditions (in wet trenches, in the rain), practically did not suffer from colds. The same is true for climbers, geologists, pioneers.

Do not hide from the difficulties, and go to meet them. to live in an atmosphere of creativity, strive to search, to new, to acquire knowledge, to work actively – that is the task of everyone who wants to prevent the emergence of higher degrees of stress, to preserve health.

Perhaps the most common mistake of people who are passionate about business is the desire to work, as they say, 24 hours a day. Meanwhile, our possibilities are not unlimited. The brain needs more than just rest; it needs time to process and systematize the accumulated information. Therefore, you need to be able to relax, switch and be sure to try to ensure a full night’s sleep.

Unfortunately, we often forget that mental activity stimulates physical activity. Immobility not only reduces mental performance, but also significantly reduces the body’s energy resources. In this case, even simple life tasks can cause higher levels of stress. A person turns out to be not only physically, but also morally not ready for difficult situations, for overcoming difficulties and stress.

Therefore, once again I want to emphasize the great importance of physical culture for the preservation of both physical and mental health.

And finally, the last factor by which the degree of voltage can be controlled is the time factor.

Performing this or that work, solving a particular task, we must fit within a certain time frame. Constant lack of time in itself can cause the development of neurosis. It is therefore important to learn to work rhythmically, to be able to plan time and appreciate every minute.

Developing a dynamic stereotype, adherence to a certain mode of the day contribute to the fact that the organism, as it were, adapts itself in advance, adjusts itself to one or another upcoming activity, copes with work faster and better, less tired.

Planning a person, improving himself physically, mastering new skills, knowledge and using them for the common good, seeing the results of his work, a person maintains his health. And those who strike out the search for life, stress, difficulties, endanger not only their health, but also deprive themselves of the joy of life. For joy comes with the achievement of the goal, with the overcoming of difficulties on the way to it.
